Description
Wolfgang Blau is the Global Managing Partner of the Brunswick Group's Sustainable Business Practice Group, which includes the firm's global climate hub.
Blau is an expert in climate communications and corporate climate strategies. He is the Co-Founder of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network at Oxford University, which trains journalists from more than 400 leading news organisations each year.
Previously, he was President International and Global Chief Operating Officer of Condé Nast with responsibility for all 11 national Conde Nast companies across Asia, Europe and Latin America. Prior to that, he was Chief Digital Officer and President of Condé Nast International where he modernized the company's digital publishing portfolio across all markets, launched the sustainability-focused trade publication ‘Vogue Business’, and successfully led the Asian, European and Latin American companies into a merger with their US sister company.
Before joining Condé Nast, Blau served as Executive Director of Digital Strategy at The Guardian (US, UK, AU) and as Editor-in-chief of Zeit Online, a position that won him Germany’s 'Chief Editor of the Year' award. He started his career as a radio news presenter at Germany's national broadcaster ARD and worked for seven years in California as a Silicon Valley reporter for German national newspapers and broadcasters.
Wolfgang is an advisor to the United Nations Climate Division, UNFCCC, and a Trustee of Internews.org which hosts the Earth Journalism Network with 20.000 members.
