Description

A graduate of the École Polytechnique and the École des Mines de Paris, Mathieu became a member of the Corps des Mines in 1994. Passionate about innovation, he has been introducing new technologies and deploying them on a large scale in European markets for over 25 years. He began his career in the public sector, notably in charge of reinforcing the electricity network and monitoring thermal power stations and dams at the Ministry of Industry, before contributing to the launch of DTT in France. In 2004, he joined SAGEM (now SAFRAN) to introduce and develop a disruptive HDTV technology in Europe. In 2006, he became Vice-Chairman of Neuf Cegetel (now SFR), where he was responsible for the multi-billion investment fibre optic programme. In 2010, he joined Voltalis, convinced that innovation is at the heart of the energy transition and can transform the electricity system.
